The Worthy Boys head backstage to dissect the drama between Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter), a super fan who becomes consumed by ambition and betrays her older mentor, Margo Channing played by Bette Davis. We discuss ageism in Hollywood and how the industry has improved or maybe not improved as much as it should. All About Eve went on to receive 14 nominations, beating and setting the record for most in a ceremony at the time.
It’s impossible to discuss All About Eve without mentioning one of the biggest Oscar snubs of all time with Bette Davis not receiving a nomination for her role as Margo Channing. However we do celebrate the other wins such as Joseph L. Mankiewicz for Best Screenplay/Best Direction, George Sanders for Best Supporting Actor, and Edith Head and Charles LeMaire winning Best Costume Design – Black and White.
